“The flow of anabolic steroids has
become increasingly controlled over the
past few years,” says Mr. X. “It's much
easier to smuggle the ingredients you
need to manufacture these compounds
across the border and produce your own
product. In South Africa it is still much
easier than in Europe and the United
States as far as stringent customs and
border control measures are concerned.”
Some local brands offer better quality
products than others. “It depends on the

integrity of the manufacturers. If people
inject their own brand of products and
they are actively involved in the lifestyle,
it is a good sign of the quality of their
products. You also get people who are
only concerned about profit margins. It's
therefore extremely important to know who
is behind a particular steroid brand.”
A particular myth in the bodybuilding
community he would like to crush is that of
anabolic steroid brands being registered
as pharma brands: “Trenbolone Acetate
has never been registered anywhere in
the world for human use and neither has
Boldenone Undecylenate. Both these items
have only ever been registered for animal
use. Trenbolone Enanthate has never
been registered for either animal or human
use. Steroid sellers who have catalogues
advertising their products as pharma
registered are out to trick and deceive their
customers. Just think logically about it. No
government medical control council would
ever even consider allowing such a thing.”
