❱❱ WHAT IS NABBA/ WFF?

NABBA/WFF is a dual
federation that caters for
both Extreme and Classic
Bodybuilding. NABBA, founded
in England in 1950, is one
of the first organisations that
hosted large-scale bodybuilding
and physique competitions to
promote the sport. It quickly
gained popularity with the Mr.
Universe drawing interest from a
range of talented athletes from
all over the world, with legendary
athletes becoming title holders,
such as John Grimek, Steve
Reeves, Bill Pearl, Reg Park
and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Today the organisation maintains
affiliations with around 60
to NABBA rules, holds an
annual National Championships
where athletes can qualify
to travel internationally to
compete in Universe or World
Championships. NABBA believes
dedicated, hard-working
athletes deserve a dynamic
athlete-orientated organisation
which is professionally run by
qualified judges, officials and
administrators. In South Africa,
NABBA/WFF functions as a dual
federation under the leadership
and guidance of Alet Lemmer
and Bev Scott.

The categories for NABBA Hardcore for Men
comprise of different height classes:

❱❱ Class 3 Over 1.65m up & including 1.72m
❱❱ Class 2 Over 1.72 m up to & including 1.79m
❱❱ Class 1 Over 1.79m
The following criteria is applicable for
WFF Men’s Open Classes:

Winners of each height class will gather for
a pose-down to decided the Overall winner of
the show.
NABBA Junior Men must be 21 years
or under, and WFF Junior Men must
be 23 years or under on the day of the
competition. NABBA Masters Men are over
40 and over 50. WFF Masters must be
over 50 years of age. Novice Men should
never have previously placed 1st , 2nd or
3rd in any contest in any federation. Judges
evaluate symmetry, proportion, muscular
development, posture and condition.
❱❱ THE QUARTER TURNS
At a competition an official will instruct athletes to make a quarter turn to the right – the first of four such turns (through 360
degrees) which will allow judges to assess athletes from the left, back and right side before they are ordered to return to the
front-line position. Judges evaluate symmetry, proportion, muscular development, posture and condition.
