There were also those with the definitive
bodybuilder’s appearance – large muscle mass,
vascularity and striations – with the quintessential
display of this aesthetic delivered by Men’s Extreme
winner Michael Appelcryn, along with runner-up
Johan Boshoff, and Thembelani Dlodlo, who came
3rd in the category.
Among the female competitors, it was the talented
Inka van Rhyn who walked away with the title of
Female Sportsmodel under 24 years. The shapely
Michelle Maynier was a standout performer, claiming
the Female Sportsmodel over 30 years division. It
came as no surprise then that both Van Rhyn and
Maynier achieved recognition from the judges in the
Female Sportsmodel Pro, finishing in 1st and 2nd
spots, respectively.
The standouts among the more petite competitors,
who were best suited for the Bikini categories,
included Logan Coleman (1st in Bikini Model under
24 years), Shona van der Merwe (1st in Bikini Model
over 30 years), Jessica Brits (1st in Bikini Model
under 1.63m), and Thato Seopa (1st in Bikini Model
over 1.63m).
A total of 16 Pro Cards were given out to deserving
champions on this occasion. The show once again
proved that one needs more than popping veins
and rippling muscles to compete in a competition
of this nature – an enormous amount of discipline,
mental resilience and physical endurance are also
prerequisites.
Everything at the Pretoria Classic Pro Am was
outstanding, from the amazing and generous
sponsors and exhibitors, to all the athletes who
competed. The event was a huge success and
NABBA/WFF would like to thank everyone for their
involvement and participation.
