Another interesting lineup was
the Men up-to-100kg category,
with some great bodybuilding
talent on show. Jared Read took
top honours, with Mduduzi Green
coming second followed by Mario
van Biljon in third place.
The Men’s Athletic Physique
has continued its rapid rise in
popularity and is the fastest-
growing category. It offers a
mainstream look, obviously
driving the popularity, but it will
also provide a good platform for
newcomers entering the industry,
some of whom may move into
the bodybuilding categories.
Theunis Bester took first place in
this division.
The ladies were not to be
outdone though. The ladies’
sections are just getting bigger
and better, with great growth and
popularity across the divisions.
In addition to the number of
athletes competing, another
great point to make is the quality
of physiques on display.
Women’s Beach Bikini went
to Chandele Lombard, while the
Fitness Bikini U/163cm went to
Karen de Beer with the O/163cm
title belonging to Angela
Howden.
The enjoyable, smooth and
efficiently run event culminated
in the announcement of the
selection of athletes to compete
at the Amateur Olympia.
The organisers asked that a

Accessories, Health Intelligence
and Lorna Jane, without whom
the success of the event would
