their relevant divisions. But the
day belonged to a man in the
super-heavyweight category
– Shanti Mitchell. It’s taken a
good few years of hit and miss
for Shanti but he is finally on
his way to giving us a glimpse
of his potential. Shanti was not
only one of the biggest guys on
the stage but he was also one
of the leanest. Throw incredible
symmetry into the mix and you
have a recipe for success. Shanti
shot straight to first place in the
super-heavyweight category
and then went on to fight a
massive battle for the overall
title – and won!
It was a very emotional
moment for the guy who almost
gave up on this dream a few
years back and quit
bodybuilding, but thankfully
when local IFBB Pro Marius
Dohne started working with
Shanti and ironing out all his
nutritional differences, we finally
were able to see the Shanti
Mitchell that we always believed
was possible on stage. A truly
humble and better champion
you wouldn’t have found on the
day and I was very pleased when
the chief judge handed him the
overall trophy and crowned him
King of the Cape for 2014.
