Kai that started to display more detail with each pose . While the current champ ’ s condition seemed to hold steady and then slightly flatten out towards the end of the pre-judging session . Pre-judging didn ’ t end without any arguments though , with Kai and Phil rubbing elbows and literally pushing each other around on stage as they competed for space and refused the budge . It wasn ’ t long before Kai broke pose and stood in Phil ’ s face and seemed to exchange a few words . Phil ’ s response was that of laughter . Nothing more , nothing less .
One of the most impressive and improved athletes in the
PHIL HEATH competition could be seen in the form of Shawn Rhoden . For a few years now I have known Rhoden to be structurally superior to most of those in the upper ranks of the Olympia but he lacked the size and fullness to really bring his physique to life . 2014 has proven that Rhoden is coming up fast through the ranks and is another incredibly genetically gifted individual when it comes to full muscle bellies , a tiny waist , and huge round quad sweeps It was clear that Rhoden is just starting to tap into a fraction of that potential . With pre-judging complete it was evident that both Phil and Kai needed to go do some more homework to dial in their physiques even tighter for the main show . They both managed to pull it off when the main show came around and this is how I saw the top 5 after the close of the contest .
