THE ARTIST
Diana Maric was born in the inner suburbs of Sydney and then moved to the Blue Mountains during her teenage years. There she was schooled and eventually pursued a teaching career. She likes all things creative and has chosen to pursue art as a career.
THE ARTWORK
The sketch is from a series of many life-drawing exercises. These were composed in a studio with a live model using various media. This particular image was sketched using charcoal. I was portraying a wistful image of looking forward into a future where women are seen as beautiful for what they are, and not always portrayed as unrealistic and unnatural.
