To those who asked them which of the two set foot on the summit first , Hillary replied that they followed very closely while Norgay noted that they climbed Everest as a team .
The Glen is now a reality . The project , which began in late 2010 and was on the scale of Everest , reached its final construction stage in the autumn of 2014 .
This project of great complexity can now see the light of day due to the immense talent of the entire Public Private Partnership team , including the MUHC , McGill Health Infrastructure Group , SNC Lavalin Grands Projets the two builders , SNC Construction and Pomerleau-Verreault , and all the architects , engineers and project consultants .
We would also like to share our sense of pride with all of our architectural colleagues and principal collaborators on the project . Indeed , during the intense periods of production , the “ architecture team ” mobilized nearly 130 architects , designers and technicians as well as administrative and clerical staff .
To this end , we would like to highlight the efforts and the immense contribution of the entire architecture team based at the Glen and , in particular , that of Robert Martin , architect of the firm of Martin , Marcotte Beinhaker Architects , an affiliate member of IBI Group , who acted as the architect of record and head of the design production and construction team of the hospital complex .
Within the MMB team , we salute the efforts of the senior Project Architects , including Marc Choquette , director responsible for Construction and the adult hospital , Tina Nuspl , head of the adult hospital and Cedars Cancer Center , Andree Castegnier and Eric Crusson , responsible for the children ' s hospital , Francois Contant and Marie-Flore Gignac , responsible for the research center and Ted Yudelson , responsible for the site work , parking garages and all the documentation management . Special thanks to the immense contribution of Ivo Taller , Heather Semple , Farhan Haqqani , Daniel Friesen , Ingo Kittle , Michael Mueller , Joseph Skaff and all staff members of the " IBI "/ MMB Team .
We also express our gratitude to our principal collaborators , particularly the firm of HDR , whose team , lead by Jason- Emery Groen and Craig Ellis , planned the Adult Hospital , including the interventional platform , the Centre for Innovative Medicine , the Montreal Chest Institute and the Cedars Cancer Center , the firm of Yelle-Maillé architects and André Yelle and Stephane Lalancette , who were responsible for planning the children ' s hospital and adult / children ’ s emergency departments , and the firm of NFOE and the team of Michael Sullivan and Mark Brooker , who were responsible for the planning of the research laboratories and vivarium .
