Mt Buller is the only resort in Australia with guaranteed snow
from opening weekend.
Mt Buller is the only resort in Australia that can
guarantee snow cover for skiing and snowboarding from
the opening weekend throughout the declared snow
season. Mt Buller is promising snow on the popular
Bourke Street run from June 10 when the resort opens
for winter. This is possible thanks to a $1.6m investment
in a new TechnoAlpin SF220 Snowfactory.
The Snowfactory boosts the resort’s already hefty 244
snowgun network for the 2017 season. It will sit above
the Blue Bullet chairlift on Bourke Street and deliver
snow to Mt Buller’s most popular ski runs.
The Snowfactory’s innovative refrigeration technology
allows it to continuously produce snow at temperatures
well above freezing. It is capable of creating 220 cubic
metres of snow daily which is a game-changer for the
resort and allows Mt Buller to make such a bold snow
promise for its guests.
In other snowmaking news, more conventional
snowmaking guns are being installed on Skyline,
boosting the cover on the Blizzard Race Course.
