MT STIRLING
Mt Stirling is Mt Buller’s natural adventure partner. Easily accessible from Mt Buller,
and included in the same resort entry fee, Mt Stirling offers visitors a true
off-the-grid backcountry experience, in a stunning alpine environment.
There’s no chairlifts, and no hotels and that’s the beauty of it.
There’s untracked turns in powdery bowls to be had for
alpine tourers and backcountry snowboarders, while
snow-camping offers adventure-seekers the chance to
spend the night under a blanket of stars, comfortable
in the knowledge they are under the watchful eye of Ski
Patrol.
A number of XC trails are groomed regularly for those
eager to explore the resort on skis, while snowshoers can
discover the beauty of the mountain on foot, traversing
snowy tracks through soaring mountain forests and
evergreen ferny glades.
Stirling Experience run the Mt Stirling Ski School,
offering lessons and equipment hire for all levels of
XC skiers, as well as stocking toboggans and
snowshoes for hire.
If you prefer your snow visit with less adrenalin, a snow
play and toboggan park is nestled into the heart of the
resort, ideal for a family outing. Nearby Mt Stirling Cafe
is a welcoming retreat for adventurers and families alike,
offering great coffee and a range of hearty meals, perfect
after a big day on the snow.
