Congratulations, Stephen!

After working with CASY for 4 months, Stephen was hired by Vision Technologies.

Hiring Challenge: In July 2016, I found out that I was potentially going to be laid off from Booz Allen Hamilton due to lack of billable work. When I found out, I immediately started preparing for the possibility that I would be out of a job. During the course of my job hunting, I had several interviews with other companies and I did not receive an offer; however, I remained positive and focused on the task at hand.

Assistance Received: Christina Wegner initially contacted me in June 2016 in response to the referral from my Wounded Warrior Project representative. She was very diligent and highly professional; she worked with me throughout the entire networking process. Christina provided assistance by contacting employers that she knew directly, and also by connecting me with other employers by sending emails to recruiters. She also followed up on a consistent basis, and proved how caring she is as a Veteran Employment Specialist for CASY.

Results: As a result of CASY’s assistance, I was able to obtain important contacts with employers. Christina also provided exceptional guidance for me with the pertinent details of areas to focus on, and tailoring my resume in accordance with job descriptions. After four months, I received my offer with Vision in less than a week from the point that I was contacted by a recruiter.

Value of the Experience:  Christina is the most professional and highly skilled Veteran Employment Specialist I had the pleasure of working with! She is a kind person who genuinely cares about Veterans. She fully understands what it takes to provide the assistance necessary to land a career for Veterans. I would recommend Christina to any Veteran in the future, and I cannot thank her enough for her services!
