We are also proud to continue our partnership with SBA in 2017 by building on our previous success, this time through LinkedIn®. We have launched a special Military Spouses and Entrepreneurship group on LinkedIn® (https://www.linkedin.com/groups/8579258), a partnership that will bridge an important employment gap for military spouses and the industries that they seek to enter. In this group, a ready, resilient, creative

talent pool of military spouses will have the chance to build active, dynamic ties with individuals, businesses, industries.

Throughout the year, the group will feature mentors from the SBA, as well as successful military spouse entrepreneurs who will share their advice and answer questions from military spouses who are beginning their small business journeys. We know that employers’ commitment to recruiting, hiring, promoting, and retaining military spouses brings a level of stability to the ever-changing dynamics of military life. We are proud to be able to facilitate this partnership and many others, which directly impact the quality of military family life, troop readiness, and national security. In 2017, we look

forward to building on the existing strong relationships that we have while also establishing new opportunities for employers and military spouses.

In support of that goal, one resource that that will remain unchanged is the dedicated support of our certified career counselors available through Military OneSource at 800-342-9647. Our counselors are available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Our counselors work solely with military spouses (many of them are spouses themselves) and are adept at helping spouses to negotiate the challenges associated with maintaining a career while moving with the military. A feature we introduced in 2016, which will continue this year, is the ability to work with the same career counselor over time through specialty consultation packages. These specialty packages are built around a spouse’s specific interests, which range from entrepreneurial endeavors to STEM-related fields, as well as spouses who are re-entering the workforce or seeking their first job.
