Remaining Thankful Through your Job Search

We are in a season of thankfulness with the holidays and family and friends all surrounding us. But, for those of us in the middle of what seems like a dog fight for our next job, how do we stay thankful, positive, and happy?

Like Mary, it isn't always easy for us to stay thankful in the face of rejection, or to find that determination to keep moving forward without a little help from those around us. Here are a few simple things that you can implement into your job search, and everyday life, to help you stay thankful, determined, and happy.

1. Understand that everything is a learning experience. If we continually take our experiences as a way to learn and grow, it won't feel as negative and personal when we receive those "thank you, but no thank you" emails.

2. Track your successes and misses. Document the things that are working and not working for you. How can you change those things that aren't working and make the ones that are working more impactful.

3. Seek out positivity. We all know those super negative people, situations, and conversations. Heck, we might be them from time to time. Focus on erasing that negativity from your life, and you'll see an influx of positivity come through.

4. Enjoy the little things. This will help feed that positivity you're trying to create in your life. Hot cup of coffee? Time spent with loved ones? Those are all things to be thankful for.

5. Share. When you are not only feeling positivity, but you are also sharing positivity, it can feed that warm fuzzy feeling, so don't keep everything to yourself. Share the joy!
