This I Believe A Love Story By Corrin Maclean Once upon a time a girl met a boy. The girl detested the boy and thought he was weird and strange. He did not sing the songs in church the right way and sang them, in her opinion with the wrong rhythm. And the final straw was that boy said “No” to the girl’s ideas and plans for the youth led Sunday service at church. So the girl decided to make sure no one liked or befriended the boy. She turned the entire youth group against him and spoke to church leadership that he should be fired. At Thanksgiving, the girl’s mom asked that boy to come to their home for Thanksgiving. The boy came. At the end of the night, the girl walked the boy to his car and they stood outside in the cool fall evening talking, and talking, and talking, and talking. They talked late into the night, and as the cool turned to cold, the boy took off his hideous but warm coat and gave it to the girl, like the gallant knight that he is. This not only warmed the girl’s arms but her heart also. The night ended with each of them saying a wistful good-bye, the girl floated into her bedroom, her feet never touching the floor and a blissful smile blasted onto her face. She woke her sister and spoke the prophetic words, “I am going to marry Mike Mac Lean.” At 17 years of age, I knew. I kn
