So the desire for women to get involved in biking is there, and the tide seems to be moving gradually in their direction. But there is much more the motorcycle industry and wider community need to do to ensure these promising green shoots grow into a strong tree. For example, the range of bikes available for smaller women to ride beyond the 125s and 250s is still limited. Nearly all the girls I spoke to at Babes Ride Out said they had got into biking because their boyfriend, husband or brother rode. How do we open our arms to all the girls out there who don’t have a male family member to introduce them to the wonderful world of two wheels? That is a question all of us must seek to answer, to ensure that groups of girls cruising together on their motos become a common sight on the roads of Wales - and everywhere else.
