The marketing literature claims a maximum range of 1500 metres. With any intercom system, please don’t expect this to be the case; the frequencies and tiny antenna used in small radio devices such as these may be able to deliver such range when the line of sight if completely uninterrupted, but in the real world of riding this distance is considerably shorter. Traffic, hedges and trees, building and hills will all block the signal to some degree. Needless to say, we lost comms regularly riding the twisty mountain roads of Scotland. Nothing can be done about that - its just the physics of radio waves - but a feature I liked about the Interphone was the voice prompts telling the rider when connection was lost and again when it was re-established. No more talking to yourself.
