To get that sort of bond there were times when we really pissed each other off . We did have a plan from the outset though ; that was to talk really quickly to each other if something was bugging . Funnily enough a lot of the time when we were scratchy with each other it was food that caused the problem . When you are out on a trip like this you are making your body work really hard and you are not always able to eat as well as you should be . Energy lows caused problems but they always almost miraculously disappeared when we ’ d had a good meal . Kendal Mintcake also helped !

‘ I hope that people realise that we did do this trip ourselves and ok , we did have some support that followed us but that was a very controlled situation ; no one else rode the bikes . I don ’ t want to take anything away from the support we had in general though . At one stage we had 28 people working for us and their support really helped make it happen . We managed to go places that hardly anyone has ever managed to get through before and we feel that ’ s special . Not only for what we have achieved for ourselves but also because our trip may have helped to pave the way for the next person who tries it .’
I asked Charley to give me a quote to sum the trip up and after a moments thought he simply said , ‘ I miss it .’ He and Ewan are already planning the next trip - this time through Africa . ‘ We will film it too . It ’ s what we do and I want to be able to share the adventure once the trip is done .’ ‘ We were so lucky with this trip . Lucky that we didn ’ t have any fatalities and that it was everything we thought it would be and more ; it was perfect really .’ With that , time was up and Charley headed off for some fun ; a few circuits on the mini bikes called .
