H eading east again I stopped in at the Wall at Derwent Bridge. The Wall is an incredible indoor carving 100 metres long on two sides of an internal wall. The panels depict life in Tasmania and are expertly carved by Greg Duncan and I'm not exaggerating when I say he is a master craftsman. The Wall is a work in progress and I found it fascinating to see the different stages of sculpture coming to life. A few days in Hobart and the South East saw Mo and I joining the Tasmanian Toy Run with 4000 other bikers. It’s a real privilege to be a small part of such a wonderful event and see the generosity of motorcyclists with two huge truck loads of toys being collected by the Salvation Army. A month in Tassie seemed too short and my time rapidly came to an end with many sights still unseen and places unexplored. Travelling slowly on an underpowered, overloaded little tractor was the perfect way to get in touch with the wilderness and drink in the beauty. www.postienotes.com.au
