Adventure Bikes...On A Budget
As a 21 year old university student, working part-
time for minimum wage in a pub at nights, my
definition of ‘budget’ isn’t BMW GS that is five years
old; I mean the real cheap deals, the kind of bikes
you can buy for the cost of a set of Touratech
panniers. To boost my ‘budget’ credentials, my
girlfriend and I rode a £700 Honda Rebel 250 to
Morocco and back this summer, and even that was
more flash than the £450 GS500 we considered.
Another perk of being a student, and therefore
almost constantly broke, is that I have also been
blessed with hundreds of free hours to browse
eBay, Autotrader and Gumtree, staring at this bikes
that twenty years ago were kings and thinking “if
only I could work 90 hours f
