My name is Achinoam Harel. I am 24 years old and come from Israel.
For the past five years I have served in the Israel Defense Forces as an
International Relations Officer. This trip across Africa is my big
adventure before I start my studies in the fall, majoring in Law and
Government. Two years ago I got my motorcycle license and
immediately flew to the United States where I rented a Honda CB500F
and drove from San Francisco to New Orleans solo. Although I had no
idea how to drive a motorcycle (except for riding circles in a parking
lot) somehow I managed to make the 5,000 km to the other side. When
I returned home I bought my KTM EXC125 2-stroke and completely fell
in love with off-road riding. This is my second big motorcycle adventure
- riding a BMW F700GS solo from Cape Town to Ethiopia and back - and
I hope there will be many more to come.
