come off the bike , after only a couple of hours you ’ ll be smelling like a camels bollix as you slowly cook in your own juices while you make your way through the heat and sand . My suit was so saturated with sweat by the time I got back to Purmamarca that evening , I simply took off my enduro boots and showered in cold water with all my kit on , stripping it off as the sweat was rinsed out of it .
I headed out an about in Purmamarca and had a lovely time walking up and down the streets eventually finding the central square where the local communities were selling their bits and pieces . I found a tavern and drank back two beers a bit like that scene in Ice cold in Alex , where the dude lowers back the beer in one . It was awesome . There is no drink that tastes better than the one that is earned , and I earned those two beers and a lot more besides that day .
I had mapped out today to be relatively straight forward . It started with asphalt up the the Ruta 9 to La Quiaca , then it was sand and gravel on the Ruta 40 to Susques and then asphalt back to Purmamarca on the Ruta 52 . Tomorrow would be much harder as I ’ d be on the 40 for almost the whole day .
