I through Why, Arizona. It was fitting to pass am currently actively pursuing this through Why, AZ but then continuing my days on endeavor and I am 5 months in! I have been to 15 through Nice, CA- New Hope, AR - Many, LA- States, traveled over 18,000 miles, tent camped Goodnight, TX and seeing the signs for cities like in each of the states, visited 16 National Parks... Whynot, MS - You Bet, CA and Hope, LA...one and have been having an adventure of cannot help but pull out the inspiration from the unchartered territory for me. So I will not have a road itself standing behind you and cheering you flag to stake as the first explorer - but I will have a on! wondrous collection of "firsts" for me and that makes it the perfect adventure! S tarting out in Arizona on September 19th, 2014 I took off west. The road has a way of speaking to you, my first days had often moments of pain due to a backpack overfilled (now I no longer wear this), leg pain -from sitting funny with pack and gear, and forgetting my wallet and bag at a gas station and on day 2 as if questioning the entire idea - I drove O ne of the most amazing parts of nature to me is the reminder of how small we really are. This was ever evident traveling on the Avenue of Giants in California and parking next to a downed redwood and at its base Amelia could not reach from side to side! Follow that to riding in the shadows of Mount Rainier in Washington with the smells of evergreens and the sun warming the ride, it is easy to fall into some serious life contemplation helmet time!
