INFORMATION RESEARCH

In the immense ocean of information available, it becomes necessary to have strategies and criteria for its search, localization, selection, storage and retrieval.

Today the Internet is the main source of information, but you have to know how to navigate and be efficient at it.

It's good to diagnose what the search strategies of our students are so that, from these, the teacher can support them by complementing what they already have and proposing changes that help them to be more efficient.

The suggestion is to diagnose both your information search strategies as well as those of your students.

You must be clear about the objectives of the search. Information is not sought for information, that is not the goal. The objective is what will be done with.

The selection of information is strongly associated with the search, so even when you apply a good discover strategy, you will probably find a lot.

Our students tend to be little synthetic when selecting truly relevant information. During the project, we decided to strengthen three fundamental points:

• Relevance

• Audience:

• Rigor, credibility and fidelity
