FFM: Is there a specific technique you use to
achieve the separation of your subject from the
background? Is that something you find to be
important in fitness photography?
ES: I either blur the background or use “rim light”
that highlights the edges of the model’s body and
hair. I do it almost all the time.
FFM: When did you book your first major fitness
client?
ES: In the summer of 2009.
FFM: Do you offer workshops, seminars, or one
on one classes?
ES: No, but I have been thinking about doing some
workshops. I think I’d have a lot to offer.
FFM: What would you like to accomplish in the
next five years in the fitness industry?
ES: Actually, I would like to move on to other
genres of photography.
FFM: How big a role would you say social media
plays in your marketing strategy?
ES: Social media is everything! Marketing is not
exactly my strength, therefore I am very grateful
to Facebook and Instagram. I really never had
a marketing strategy pre-social media, but my
business didn’t exist yet either.
FFM: Where can our readers find you in social
media?
ES: My Facebook Page is: www.facebook.com/
evasimonphotography And my Instagram is @
evasimonphotographer.
