FFM: You have a degree in Mechanical
Engineering and graduated with a full
academic scholarship. Are you a self-taught
photographer or did you take classes in
photography?
ND: Yes, I am a self-taught photographer.
FFM: You began working as a photographer in
2009, and since then you have accomplished so
much and are considered by many as one of the
best in the fitness industry. Take us through the
ups and downs of making it to the top.
ND: I never really aimed to be a top photographer.
Photography was something I did just to make
ends meet here in Hollywood. I shot videos and
did photography as my main source of income
while trying to pursue film making. However,

photography really took over within months once I
started doing it so I just went with it.
FFM: When did you book your first major
fitness client?
ND: Active Channel-a show called “LA Muscle”
with Rob Riches. I shot video segments for them
and photos for Rob Riches himself.
FFM: You said you discovered photography by
helping a good friend make it in modeling, can
you share the name?
ND: His name is James Ellis. He is one of the most
recognizable fitness models in the US right now.
FFM: Can you give us your top 5 tips for our
aspiring model readers?
ND: Fitness modeling is commercial modeling so
