own fantasies as a child playing dress up in her
mother’s wardrobe. The ability to re-create a look
and take on different personalities during playtime
was endless. Amrit mentioned, “I could be anything
I wanted to be and that was liberating. No taboos,
no judgment, no approvals. I was having fun.”
In a recent interview, she was asked,
“What keeps you going now and who are your
inspirations? What motivates you?” Amrit replied,
“Today my inspiration and motivation are
my 15-year-old niece, Hannah Dhaliwal and
2-yr-old nephew Jacob Dhaliwal. It is very
important to me that I lead by example. Through
my accomplishments and my inextinguishable
drive, I want to show them that dreams can
come true – that anything is possible. I want to
show them that if you work hard enough you
don’t have to let go of that starry-eyed fantasy
of being a rock star and living in a mansion.”
Amrit’s world is her oyster and she is fully in
charge of executing her passion and purpose. She
exemplifies the ‘can do, will do, never stop attitude’.
