kind of rascal to play…He skates on the edge of
the law and is devoted to Danny Rayburn, played

secrets, and plot twists, we look forward to bingewatching this promising new show.
watching movies or documentaries. He has been
reading The Paris Wife by Paula McLain, about
Hemingway’s first wife, having taken and interest
in the author and journalist after filming in the
Florida Keys.
Our conversation turned to recent comments
by Patricia Arquette, during the 87th Academy
Awards. We asked Jamie what could be done to
bridge the salary gap between the sexes. “Pay
them equally, but Hollywood tends to pay by whom
they deem will draw the biggest fan base.” This
ongoing issue will continue to plague the industry.
Mr. McShane supports Tennis for Tots, a
gentle and fun introduction to tennis, by playing
in charity tournaments. He hopes to get more
involved in the Christine O’Reilly Children’s
Foundation. This non-profit organization raises
money for children who need medical care that
their families can’t afford. Christine was a tennis
pro and a triplet whom Jamie dated in the early
90’s. She tragically died in a car crash in 1993.
Truly a genuine and wonderful person, “Her life
and death have both had an enormous impact on
my life.”
o many shows are canceled by networks
before having an opportunity to build a
substantial fan base. The actor thinks
combatting this long time trend requires a ballsy
network like Netflix. They seem to latch on to
projects they believe in and then shoot a full
season rather than just shooting a pilot and waiting
to see how a test audience responds. “I think it
comes down to having the suits hiring the creatives
they believe in and letting that talent do what they
do rather than stifling them.”
Gene Hackman, Steve McQueen, Spencer
Tracy, Alan Alda, and Clint Eastwood are all very
inspiring to Jamie. Blown away by Mark Ruffalo’s
range, he also appreciates the classics such as
Braveheart, To Kill a Mockingbird, Josie Whales,
French Connection, Caddyshack, Miracle, and, of
course, Robin Hood.
Jamie currently resides in Los Angeles, with
his two boys, Luke and Liam. He lives with his
girlfriend Heather, who also has two boys, Jackson
and Charlie. “It’s crazy when we have all four boys
who are so close in age.” He likes to spend his
down time laying on the couch with his girlfriend
You can find the talented actor currently
working on a number of projects. Apart from
Bloodline, he has a recurring role as Coroner Justin
Burnside in TNT’s Murder in the First. You can also
find him in a film called Fifty to One about the horse
called Mind That Bird, who won the 2009 Kentucky
Derby. “It’s an amazing underdog story, where Bird
was over eight lengths behind the rest of the field
before he turned it on and won.”
hen we asked the actor what
grounded him, his answer was his
girlfriend Heather. “Sometimes my
kids ground me but other times they send me to
the moon.” Struggling with everyday life keeps him
humbled and so does looking in the mirror with
countless shows and movies on his resume, we
will always be grateful for this modern-day Robin
Hood, who gives of himself with substantial talent,
consistent drive, and humility.
