Mental Health A healthy mind is the greatest treasure Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Life’s circumstances can affect how we think, feel, and act. Your mental state can determine how you handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through to adulthood (https://www.mentalhealth.gov). If you are experiencing any of the concerns below, we can help: • • • • Depression Anxiety or phobias Managing stress Grief and loss • • • • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Relationship and communication issues Self-harm Domestic violence An MPCN family doctor can refer you to a mental health therapist to support mild to moderate emotional or mental health concerns. We provide one-to-one counselling and group classes, with evening and telephone appointments available. “I was so appreciative of having the ability to speak to someone in my first language, and someone who actually understood the cultural nuances that contribute to my mental health. I had been to other mental health professionals, but I always felt that there was no real understanding of what I was going through. My Mosaic Primary Care Network (MPCN) mental health therapist came alongside me and adapted strategies and techniques to my culture to help support my anxiety and depression.” The top two reasons patients access mental health support are for anxiety and depression. MPCN runs mental health workshops during the day and in the evenings throughout the year! — MPCN patient “I saw many therapists in the past. I was so tired of the therapies that would dig into my childhood but have no real outcome. I really liked the short-term model of care provided at MPCN because it forced me and my therapist to be goal focused. I was provided with concrete strategies to cope with my anxiety.” — MPCN patient • • • • Managing Anxiety Happiness Basics Reducing Stress Walk the Talk Workshop Learn more and register online at www.mosaicpcn.ca During the last year children, youth, and adults were supported with over 8,000 visits as part of the MPCN mental health program
