ENRICHING EDUCATION THROUGH PRACTICE AND
PRACTICE THROUGH EDUCATION: OUR PRACTICE FACULTY
Caring, experienced, and knowledgeable faculty in the College’s
Nurse Practitioner Program balance teaching with practice in a
wide variety of clinical settings. Through this fusion of academe
and the real world, students benefit from the experience of
Nurse Practitioners (NP) providing care in family health clinics,
the county jail, a long term care facility, and women’s health
practices. Many of these practice sites are in community health
settings that reach out to the underserved, uninsured, and

underinsured. Our faculty members in practice are passionate
about patient care and are role models committed to mentoring
their students.
The faculty’s day-to-day clinical work enriches classroom, online,
and clinical coursework and demonstrates the many important
roles NPs fulfill and the difference their work makes in individual
lives, families, and overall healthcare.
