Do you ever get Writer’s Block? I don’t know if I can call it that with the way I POWER OF write. I’ve never had moment when I sat down to write and couldn’t find anything put down on the paper. My issues as I mentioned is getting myself to sit my behind down and let the words go. FOCUS Any tips on how to get through the dreaded writer’s block? I would say this to any author, this has been ARTICLE BY RICHARD MAALA working lately, sit your alarm clock or phone in another room, set it for early in the morning. When it goes off don’t ask any questions just get up and get to your computer and mash those keys to get those words down. The last few weeks this has been working for me. I am going to try to keep it going. I learned this from Mel Robbins reading her book The 5 Minute Rule. Tell us about your reading habits. Do you read much and if so who are your favorite authors? I love audio books. I am an auditory learner so I don’t read many books like other people. I love to listen and by listening I take in information the way others read. It’s actually hard for me to sit and read a physical book. I loved Stuart Scott’s Every Day I Fight, which he wrote before succumbing to cancer. My most recent downloads were The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins and a classic The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I love so many different types of works I can’t say I have any one favorite. Really depends on my mood or what I’ve learned about the author. An author who shares an interesting word or two in their interview will cause me to consider picking up their book. Word of mouth and reviews don’t do anything for me. Since I know my personal feelings don’t line up with others. As I said I prefer a book in audio form. I may never finish the digital or paperback my Kindle is packed with books I haven’t finished yet. What book/s are you reading at present? The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Why Nobody Wants To Go To Church Anymore by Thomas and Joani Schultz, and a few comic novels I enjoy reading but haven’t finished. What is your favorite book and why? My favorite book
