Not so flattering, is it? Let’s get down to business. Focus outside of the box of modern tradition, and dare to take a view from another perspective.

n the western world the three largest religious

traditions are that of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism , of which all are monotheistic, and all adhering to the philosophy of female subjugation. Of course, there were (are) other cultural & religious traditions, worldwide, that did not adhere to this perception of the human female. Historically, there were societies that understood universal balance and women held a position of equal honor, and authority. What does all of this have to do with the Crone? Patience, I’m almost there.

Ok, here we go. The concept of “crone” comes from societies that honor, value, and follow the natural path and stages of life leading to divine universal balance. The life of a woman is, like the human trinity, divided into 3 stages of growth: Maiden – the first stage of a woman’s life, youth, innocence, curiosity, development.

Mother - second stage of life; fertility, the acquisition of knowledge, fulfillment.

Crone - final and rewarding stage, one of knowledge, wisdom, power, and vision.

A Crone is a woman who has moved successfully through the first two stages of life and has gathered much knowledge and the wisdom to utilize that knowledge. The stage of the Crone is one that is void of intimidation and experiences the sweetness of freedom.

In the western world youth, is the single desire of most people. Youth, beauty, and sexual prowess, in this era, is the stick by which each female is judged. Intelligence and foresight are not categories to consider, nor the spiritual beauty that is acquired through experience and time. And while the world sees only the negative images and description of the woman of age, designed by the blindly ignorant, as Crones, we revel in our good fortune to have avoided the many pitfalls and eluded the many enemies;. and in turn, have been granted a life time of knowledge, experience, strength, power, wisdom, divine beauty, freedom from fear, and vision of the future.

What is a Crone? It is a woman who has been granted time, knowledge, wisdom, foresight, creativity, beauty, talent, and the ability to give what has been learned to generations that follow. The Crone is she who knows that she has reached the apex of the Divine Feminine and is loved by the universe and herself. It’s good to be Crone.
