Camp ArticulAction
DU PLAISIR POUR LES ENFANTS ATTEINTS D ’ ARTHRITE JUVÉNILE

Près de cinq millions d ’ adultes souffrent d ’ une forme d ’ arthrite . Pas étonnant que la plupart d ’ entre nous ne réalisent pas que l ’ arthrite affecte également les enfants — plus de 2000 dans la province de Québec seulement . De ce total , près de 40 enfants âgés de 8 à 16 ans provenant des quatre coins du Québec ont participé au camp annuel ArticulAction , un camp adapté et consacré aux enfants atteints d ’ arthrite juvénile .
Chaque enfant est amené à s ’ épanouir , à acquérir de la confiance en soi et à partager ses expériences avec d ’ autres enfants qui doivent affronter les mêmes défis . En 2016 , le camp a eu lieu du 24 au 30 juillet à Saint-Alphonse- Rodriguez , à environ 90 minutes de Montréal . En plus d ’ avoir sur les lieux une équipe médicale composée entre autres d ’ experts en rhumatologie , toutes les infrastructures sont adaptées aux besoins des campeurs uniques .
Inspirées par le thème « les étoiles », une variété d ’ activités et de sorties ont eu lieu durant toute la semaine : une présentation sur l ’ astronomie offerte par les Vagabonds du ciel , une visite à l ’ observatoire Saint-Zénon , la création d ’ étoiles pour l ’ Allée des célébrités en lien avec le gala de clôture , en plus de massothérapie et de manucure .
Grâce à la générosité de ses collaborateurs , le camp ArticulAction et la Société de l ’ arthrite ont réussi à offrir une semaine unique à ces jeunes atteints d ’ arthrite juvénile . En plus de repartir avec une foule de souvenirs inoubliables , les enfants ont développé des amitiés durables . C ’ est plus facile lorsque vous partagez la même réalité en matière de santé au quotidien . Ces jeunes se sentent maintenant moins seuls et plus forts .
Camp imAJInation
Le Camp imAJInation est un camp de répit pour les jeunes de 7 à 16 ans ayant reçu un diagnostic d ’ une maladie rhumatismale inflammatoire . C ’ est une occasion pour eux de s ’ épanouir ainsi que d ’ échanger avec d ’ autres enfants partageant la même réalité qu ’ eux . De plus , les jeunes ont la chance d ’ expérimenter , en toute sécurité , différentes activités adaptées à leurs besoins et leurs capacités . Kids on the Move Camp
FUN TIMES FOR CHILDREN WITH JUVENILE ARTHRITIS
Nearly five million adults suffer from some form of arthritis or another . No wonder few of us realize arthritis affects children , too — over 2,000 in the province of Quebec alone . Out of that total , nearly 40 youngsters between the ages of eight and 16 came from all over Quebec to attend the annual Kids on the Move Camp , a camp adapted for and devoted to kids with juvenile arthritis .
Each child is encouraged to flourish , gain self-confidence and share their experience with other children facing the same challenges . The camp took place from July 24 to 30 in Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez , approximately 90 minutes from Montreal . Not only is there a medical team with rheumatology experts on site , all of the camp ’ s facilities are adapted to suit the needs of these unique campers .
Inspired by the year ’ s theme of “ The Stars ”, a variety of activities and outings took place throughout the week with said theme in mind . There was a presentation on astronomy offered by the vagabonds of heaven , a visit to the Saint-Zénon Observatory , the creation of stars for the Walk of Fame with regard to the final gala at camp , plus massage therapy complete with manicure .
With many thanks to the generosity of contributors , Kids on the Move Camp and the Arthritis Society succeeded in offering a unique week to these youngsters with juvenile arthritis . In addition to leaving with a ton of unforgettable memories , the kids made lifelong friends . It helps when you share a similar reality in terms of day-to-day health . These young people now feel less lonely and stronger .
Camp imAJInation
Camp imAJInation is a respite for young people aged 7 to 16 who have been diagnosed with an inflammatory rheumatic disease . It ’ s an opportunity for them to flourish as well as to be with other children who share the same reality . In addition , they have the opportunity to safely experience different activities tailored to their needs and abilities .
