LU‐1 Proposed Future Development Compatibility
There is a concern about the compatibility of proposed future development in the vicinity of Maxwell AFB. Certain types of development can create
compatibility issues if not coordinated with the military, i.e. development that attracts large congregations of people, outdoor lighting for such
development, and water features could attract birds and wildlife to the area of air operations potentially creating an incompatible environment.

Military Compatibility Areas (MCAs)
The JLUS Stakeholders should incorporate the MCAs
and MCOD shown on Figures 8 through 15 into their
planning documents. The MCAs and MCOD should
be used by JLUS stakeholders to identify where,
geographically, each JLUS strategy should be
applied. This will facilitate education and
awareness of military compatibility areas in the
JLUS Study Area.
