JLUS Study Area
Website. A project website was developed to provide stakeholders, the
public, and media representatives with access to project information. The
website was maintained for the entire duration of the project to make
information easily accessible. Information contained on the website
included program points of contact, schedules, relevant documents and
maps, public meeting information, and downloadable comment forms. The
project website is located at http://www.montgomerymaxwellafbjlus.com/.
The Montgomery‐Maxwell AFB JLUS Study Area, as depicted on Figure 1, is
designed to address all lands near Maxwell AFB and Gunter Annex, where
community uses and activities may impact current or future military
operations or where such uses and activities may be impacted by
operations. Maxwell AFB and Gunter Annex are both located in southern
Alabama and are situated within the Montgomery city limits in
Montgomery County. Maxwell AFB is located in the northwestern portion of
the city, while Gunter Annex is located in the northeastern portion of the
city.
