5.15. Legislative Initiatives
Legislative initiatives include those existing and proposed federal, state, and
local laws and regulations that may have a direct or indirect effect on a
military installation to achieve its current or future mission.
Federal, state, and local legislative initiatives are important regulatory tools
to guide the actions of both local jurisdictions and the military installation.
This legislation is not mutually exclusive, and as such, it fosters both parties
to work together in partnership to improve operational and community
sustainability objectives.
