FESTIVE FOYER
Large foyers are typical of old Victorian homes, and are sometimes looked upon as wasted space by contemporary homeowners.
But the Laceys are especially fond of this part of their home, partly because it’s “the perfect place to spend Christmas,” says Lacey.
The above image reflects a process that can be chaotic at best, she says. “Everyone has a different opinion of what looks good, where
things should be and what their favorite things are. My mom has a bit of a shopping problem. She loves to buy holiday tchotchkes,
but she’s a big help, and it all comes together.” The wooden mantle is original to the 1890s home, which served as a preschool called
The Little School House during the 1980s. There’s ample room to feature a stocking for every member of the family, including the
beloved dog, Comanche. ➤
