Dr. Kayne and Dr. Tuckman are top doctors because they view their
specialty as more than dentistry. Their focus is on what Dr. Tuckman terms
“oral medicine.” Dr. Kayne explains, “We take care of the whole being –
systemic issues. Acid reflux, for example, can first be detected by changes
in the mouth. We examine the entire oral cavity.”
Dr. Tuckman adds that this includes screening for oral cancer and examining
the inside of a patient’s cheeks, the palate and the underside of the tongue
and lips. “We don’t view dentistry as separate from a doctor’s medical
practice. Our experience and expertise allows us to pinpoint how a variety
of medical conditions manifest themselves in the oral cavity.”

arsenal of technology is a high definition intraoral camera that allows the
dentists to see every aspect of a patient’s teeth and mouth with incredible
detail. This allows them to discover cracks in teeth, plaque deposits, cavities
next to fillings and excessive wear. Dr. Kayne says discovering oral problems
early on allows for less invasive and more cost-effective treatment.
To stay abreast of what is current, Dr. Kayne attends continuing education
programs through world-renowned organizations such as the Dawson
Academy and Spear Institute, and he is also a member of the Passaic
County ITI Study Club.
Dr. Tuckman spends numerous hours on coursework in cosmetic, implant
and restorative dentistry. His commitment to continuing education earned
him a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. He has attended
Aesthetic Advantage in New York City, the Dawson Academy and
Invisalign® workshops. He is also a member of an implant study club.
