PRESS. “I enjoy talking to my patients about their health, and
educating them about their treatment options. We practice one-onone, old family-style dentistry.”
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental
Medicine, Dr. Press received his doctorate in 1990 with a license in
conscious sedation, and founded Upper Montclair Dental
Associates in 1996.
“At Upper Montclair Dental Associates, we provide high-quality,
patient-oriented dental care, in a warm, comfortable and friendly
environment,” says Dr. Press. “Our emphasis is on educating our
patients, and empowering them to make more informed decisions
about their oral health, from basic restoration to complex cosmetic
cases.”
Dr. Press is a strong advocate of continuing one’s education, and
his philosophy is to always strive for perfection. He has attended
the prestigious Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education,
he is a Spear Education Study Club member and takes continuing
education classes at the Academy of Comprehensive Dental
Studies, among others.
Concerned for the high numbers of people who suffer from
undiagnosed sleep problems, Dr. Press has recently added the
iSleep Dental Program to the extensive array of services offered at
Upper Montclair Dental Associates.
“Eighty-five percent of patients who have treatable obstructive
sleep apnea have never been treated or even diagnosed,” he
explains. “We can now give patients who are suffering from sleep
issues the option to use a small device in the privacy of their own
home to assess if they are suffering from a breathing disorder that
is affecting the quality of their sleep.”
If the test shows that the patient’s condition is severe, he or she
will be referred to a specialist. However, if the condition is mild or
moderate, the patient may be monitored or treated at Upper
Montclair Dental Associates.
“Our mission is to be our patients’ advocate,” says Dr. Press. “We
provide each patient with superior, individualized and
comprehensive oral healthcare nurtured by a relationship based on
trust, between doctor, patient and staff.”
Dr. Press is currently on staff at Mountainside Hospital where, as
an attending dentist, he instructs the dental residents. Active in the
community, he visits local schools during Dental Health Month
and is past Vice President in the Montclair Rotary Club.
Professionally active, Dr. Press is a member of the Academy of
General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry,
the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental
Association, the Essex County Dental Association, the Western
Essex Dental Association, and an associate member of the
American Society for Dental Aesthetics.
