Dr. Miller specializes in several types of sophisticated surgeries and was the third doctor in New Jersey to become certified to perform cataract surgery with the Femtosecond laser. Laser-assisted cataract surgery with the Femtosecond laser is a safer, gentler, more precise procedure, which yields improved surgical outcomes and a quicker recovery time. This laser may also be utilized to correct corneal astigmatism, which directly relates to improved post-operative vision. Dr. Miller also utilizes the ORA system during cataract surgery, which takes real-time measurements of the length of the eye, after the cataract has been removed, for the most accurate visual outcomes. When it comes to laser vision correction, Dr. Miller is at the forefront of treatment. He performs Custom iLASIK, All Laser LASIK with IntraLase (bladeless technology) and pre-procedure assessment of the vision with Wavefront analysis, which personalizes the treatment for an improved visual outcome and the sharpest vision possible. The Laser Vision Correction Center of New Jersey also provides the latest technology in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye. Blepharitis/Dry eye is a condition that affects approximately 90% of women after menopause, as well as many contact lens wearers and those affected with autoimmune conditions. Dr. Miller uniquely meets the often unaddressed needs of his patients by offering the newest and most advanced equipment to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye. The OCULUS Keratograph provides imaging of the meibomian glands of the inner eyelid, providing Dr. Miller with the most accurate diagnosis of the patient’s condition, which in turn assures the most appropriate treatment. The Keratograph is also used for periodic re-assessment of the glands to verify progress is being made with the treatment. Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) is one of the most common causes of dry eye disease and is easily treated with MiBo Thermoflo, a heated eyelid massage. T his treatment liquefies gland secretions, usually providing immediate relief. Treatments are typically recommended at regular intervals throughout the year in an effort to unclog the glands, prevent them from clogging again and promote optimal ocular surface health. Dr. Miller received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from Northwestern University, before completing an internship at Lenox Hill Hospital and then returning to Northwestern University Medical School for his ophthalmology residency. He is a member of the Medical Board of Saint Barnabas Hospital’s Refractive Surgery Center and an attending on staff at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
