“IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE NATURAL TO LOOK NATURAL,”
says Paul J. LoVerme, M.D., a second-generation plastic
surgeon and the founding director of the LoVerme Center
for Plastic Surgery in Verona. Dr. LoVerme joined his
father in the practice of plastic surgery in 1985.
Since 1991, Dr. LoVerme has maintained his practice with
a primary emphasis on aesthetic surgery. He is a member
of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the
American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Dr. LoVerme is past president of the New Jersey Chapter
of the American College of Surgeons and past-president of
the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons and a Clinical
Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at Rutgers – New
Jersey Medical School. He has dual board certifications in
Surgery and Plastic Surgery.
Dr LoVerme believes that expertise comes from experience
and knowledge. It is that experience that breeds sound
judgement “that is critical when it comes to aesthetic
surgery.” After over 25 years in his specialty, every patient
he sees is a beneficiary of his honed and polished talent.
Dr LoVerme attends and speaks at state, regional and
national meetings to be current with advances in
Plastic Surgery.
“My father taught me the importance of educating
patients about their options,” says Dr. LoVerme. “I spend
a lot of time with my patients, speaking with them about
what is best for them, what will work and what won’t
work for them.”
To aid that process, Dr. LoVerme often employs Vectra 3D
imaging prior to surgery. The technique involves taking a
three-dimensional picture and then manipulating that
picture on a computer,” he explains. “I can actually turn
the picture from right to left, and then I can, for instance,
put in breast implants to show what it will to look like
with a particular implant. For faces and bodies, I can also
demonstrate changes on those images and show realistic
results of a rhinoplasty, facelift or liposuction.”
This combination of experience, knowledge, and personal
communication has made Dr. LoVerme a respected
presence in New Jersey’s medical community. “I have a
holistic approach to my patients. I prefer a personal
approach,” he stresses. “My care has to be state-of-the-art
— but it has to be personal, too. Whether surgical or
non-surgical, my goal is to make every outcome positive,
every result expected, and every experience pleasurable
and comfortable.”
