To kick off the annual Arab Heritage Month Celebration, Mayor Ed Lee joins the Arab American community for its first opening night of the 20th Annual Arab Film Festival. The City’s history is inextricably tied to the Arab American community. Since the days of the first Arab immigrants coming to the U.S., Arab Americans have made tremendous contributions to the economy, culture, and every aspect to our City’s life. And we take advantage in the month of October to celebrate the cultural heritage of the many diverse Arab communities in our City and honor their contributions to every aspect of San Francisco.
