Latino Heritage Month Celebration
As the 2016 Latino Heritage Month Celebration came to an end, Mayor Ed Lee, in collaboration with Supervisors John Avalos and David Campos, San Francisco Treasurer Jose Cisneros, City Attorney Dennis Herrera, District Attorney George Gascon, Director of 311 Nancy Alfaro, just to name a few, organized an awards ceremony to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of the local Latino youth leaders.
It is our 10th occasion as a City that we come together to celebrate the rich traditions and many accomplishments of the Latino Community. The Latino Community has built a strong foundation for our City—successfully passing our city’s largest ever housing bond measure, $50 million of which will directly support the creation of affordable housing in the Mission—and will continue to play an integral role in shaping the future.
