Money Masters Volunteers

By Maegan Shafer, SMMC Peer Mentor

Money Masters Volunteers is an enriching training program that financially educates students and members of the community on financial topics such as banking, credit, home buying, and investments and how to present the information. The center partnered with the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension program to launch the first training this spring. We had a graduating class of 14 with 95% of the class represented by UNT students.

The program consists of forty hours of classroom and online training followed by forty hours of volunteer service to completed within twelve months. This program offers students a unique opportunity to apply vital personal financial knowledge gained from the training to engaging presentations that educate audiences throughout the greater Denton community.
