A fond farewell

This Fall the Financial Readiness team bids farewell to a long-term mentor, Maegan Shaffer. Maegan began her tenure with the Center in the summer of 2015. Her contributions to the Center’s outreach programs have been nothing short of phenomenal. She helped the center increase its outreach numbers from just over 10,000 visits a semester to over 13,000! She was instrumental in developing new and innovative outreach initiatives such as targeted tabling to residence halls, co-chairing our annual Money Month, and enhancing our Cash Cab Program.

Maegan,

The entire SMMC team will miss you and wishes you the best of luck on your new career.

In Their Own Words

In Their Own Words

“I would like to purchase my books as soon as possible. This would give me a little extra time to familiarize with the subjects.” –Kailyn, Senior

“This semester has been incredibly difficult for me financially and emotionally. I'm very grateful and appreciate whatever will help me.” –Hilaree, Junior

In addition to our other services, the SMMC also offers short-term, emergency loans for students. Our loans can be used on most things, from text books to gas money, professional clothes to help with rent. In the last year, we awarded over 470 loans to students in need.

Maegan,

The entire SMMC team will miss you and wishes you the best of luck on your new career..
