Dipu Manta
In the HighLight series we
introduce one
member of the ISA team
in every magazine.
Dipu Manta joined ISA in 2016, as part of the Man-
agement Team, having a dual role in supporting the
leadership of the Academy in shaping some of its
strategic and logistic deployments, as well Associate
Dean of the Integral Management Department.
We interview Dipu and gain insight into his experi-
ence thus far.
Monad: Dipu, you are completing your MBA, why did
you decide to do a business degree on top of your
Engineering one?
Dipu: The reason for the MBA is that after working
in the utilities industry for over 10 years, the MBA
seemed a good option for furthering my career pros-
pects, and this is also why I have chosen to undertake
a Power Management MBA.
Monad: You are experiencing Online Education si-
multaneously as a student and as a provider; what
has your experience been and what are your views
on the future of education from this dual perspective?
Dipu: Technology has changed tremendously over the
years. When I started the online MBA, the technology
wasn’t as mature so it was challenging doing exams
and studying online. Over the past several years, the
technology has however advanced so it is much easier
to pursue both study and work at the same time, and
the work-life balance can be kept in sync very easily.
From my perspective the basis of education is still
starting as pupils with teachers in a room, but then
you have the freedom to continue as online students
later on in life to advance your prospects.
Monad: Will you advocate for Online Education and
if so when?
