A Letter From Our President
By now, I am sure most of you have noticed our posts sharing our excitement and pride over the success of our first big, formal event. The Gala to benefit Love McKinley, Inc. was a ROARING success and brought in over $23,500 for the charity. That is the profit after we deduct expenses, so that is the money that will be handed directly to the charity. We couldn’t be happier with that number. When Alana and I started planning, we had the hope of raising $10,000. As excitement grew, tickets started to sell and raffle and auction donations started to come in, that hopeful number crept up to $15,000. The night of, we were silently speculating, “could we maybe even get to $20,000?!” Needless to say we are all so thrilled, excited and thankful to have raised so much and to be able to make such a significant contribution to the Love McKinley charity. Thank you all for your support and your generosity, whether you were able to attend or not. I think *most* of us that were in attendance were rewarded with a pretty sweet hangover the next day!
So...now what?! We have some GREAT events in the works. Alana has been killing it with Mom’s Night Out planning, and Alyscia and I have an awesome Halloween party in the works for all of our kiddos. We will then move on to finalizing the ever popular Sunday with Santa. A wonderful member and I *may* even have something new and exciting in the works for January but we’re not quite ready to share the details of that with you yet. We really have been trying to offer something for everyone, and I think we are succeeding! The percentage of very active members within our group seems to keep growing, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
