President’s Message
We are coming up on the holiday season, which is one of the busiest
times of the year for our retail businesses. I am encouraging all of you to
think small – small business, that is.
“Think Small ”
“Small Business Saturday” was created six years ago by American
Express as a way to counter the consumer craziness of Black Friday and
Cyber Monday. Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers
to patronize brick-and-mortar establishments that are small and locallybased. This year’s “Small Business Saturday” will be held on Nov. 26.
Many of our member merchants will offer special discounts that day, and
I hope you will take advantage of those savings.
Of course, it’s important to support small businesses year-round. Small
businesses are the lifeblood of our community. They employ our friends
and neighbors—in fact, they are our friends and neighbors. Small
businesses provide a quality product and know their customers’ needs.
I invite everyone to visit our region’s small businesses – not just during
the holiday shopping season, but any time you need goods and services.
Remember – think SMALL!
Regards,
