Borton, P.E., was recently honored with the Distinguished Award of Merit by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania for his continuous excellence in the engineering consulting industry and unwavering commitment to community service. John Chilleri has been named the next Police Academy Director at Lackawanna College. Mr. Chilleri has worked at Lackawanna College as a Police Academy Instructor since 1991. Most recently, he was the Police Academy Associate Director of Emergency Medical Response. Brian Frank, M.D., trauma surgeon at Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC), has received the 2018 Dr. John M. Templeton, Jr. Physician Award for the Commitment to Excellence in Trauma Care. Dr. Frank is a board-certified and fellowship-trained general surgeon specializing in trauma and surgical critical care at GCMC’s Level II trauma center. The honor is awarded annually to a trauma physician in Pennsylvania who has shown excellence in trauma care though clinical expertise, philanthropy, leadership, trauma-related research, trauma prevention and education. Steve Chen was recently appointed president of Crystal Window & Door Systems, succeeding company founder Thomas Chen. Thomas Chen will now assume the role of chairman. The promotion of Steve Chen reflects his expanding role in directing the strategic initiatives and operations of Crystal Windows, as well as its related subsidiaries and affiliates across the country. It also marks the smooth transition from the founding generation of this family-owned business to the next generation. The Misericordia University Autism Center has named Katy J. Kranson program coordinator for the Autism Lifelong Learning Program in the College of Health Sciences and Education. Ms. Kranson supports the director of the program in areas of training and supervision of job coaches, and maintaining compliance of state and federal mandates and regulations. In addition, she works closely with Luzerne County’s Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and insures individualized service plans for clients are completed and implemented in the field. Jill George, senior vice president of human resources at The Dime Bank, recently received the 2018 Champion For Women Award at the Pennsylvania Bankers Association’s fifth annual Women in Banking Conference. Ralph Scartelli has joined the Honesdale National Bank as a Vice President and Residential Mortgage Sales Manager. Mr. Scartelli holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from East Stroudsburg University.
