At this year’s meeting, outgoing chair Mark Volk passed the baton to John Wiercinski as our new board chair. Mark, who in his day job is president of Lackawanna College, has served the Chamber and its affiliates in a number of capacities including as board and executive committee member; treasurer and chair-elect; and as chair of Leadership Lackawanna. A retired U.S. Army Colonel, he has made service to his country and community a hallmark of his legacy. I thank Mark for his leadership and support over these past two years, and am pleased that he will remain an active player as immediate past chair. John Wiercinski is president of JPW Consulting, through which he adds to a lengthy resume of outstanding work in health care planning and administration. He also serves on the faculty of the University of Scranton, where he teaches and mentors students pursuing advanced studies in healthcare administration. John has served as a chamber board and executive committee member; chair-elect; and chair of the Program of Work Committee.
