Celebration
The summer months are the perfect time to check
out downtown Scranton. Come to First Friday or
the city’s newest regular event, Third Thursday, to
enjoy music, art, live performances and refreshments.
Special events like the Scrantastic Spectacular (July 3),
Arts on the Square (July 29), as well as many others,
provide something for everyone.
Give your taste buds a treat at one of our many
downtown eateries – we have everything from fine
dining to (really great) pizza! While you are here, see
what’s new in the way of merchandise and services at
one of our many downtown business enterprises.
Downtown Scranton is improving its appearance,
too. We thank our partners who have taken the lead
in community beautification – especially Scranton
Tomorrow and the Penn State Master Gardeners,
who recently celebrated the planting of the 50,000th
flower in the central business district. We greatly
appreciate their hard work as well as the continued
efforts of those individual property owners,
shopkeepers and tenants who keep downtown
sidewalks free of litter and the flower beds and
planters weeded and watered.
So get off your… couch! Come see what’s happening
